Michigan Educational Theatre Association

The Michigan Educational Theatre Association (META) is an organization devoted entirely to supporting theatre education for both students and teachers throughout the great state of Michigan. Working collaboratively, teachers and students create a variety of events that create educational opportunities while also showcasing the talents of Michigan students. (META) is an official chapter of The Educational Theatre Association.

 

Educational Theatre Association

The Educational Theatre Association is a professional organization for theatre educators. In addition to providing professional development, advocacy, and networking support to its members, EdTA operates the International Thespian Society, an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students.

 

Alpha Psi Omega

Throughout the country, Alpha Psi Omega has sponsored the formation of theatre honor societies in high schools and junior colleges, with the aim of encouraging dramatic production at every step in a person's academic career. In 1929, after significant interest at the junior college level, Delta Psi Omega was formed. In 1936, at the Alpha Psi Omega Grand Rehearsal, Delta Psi Omega was officially recognized as the junior college division of Alpha Psi Omega. Today, there are over 350 Delta Psi Omega casts.

 

Actors' Equity Association

Actors' Equity Association ("AEA" or "Equity"), founded in 1913, is the labor union that represents more than 48,000 Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. Equity seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of our society.
